It has been a long time since the last time I had an English class, and it has been very useful.
I love learning English (this subject was one of my favorites in high school, and I like the way classes work. The fact that the students have to write blogs is amazing to me because this has helped me express myself so I can feel more comfortable while I am practicing this language.
I think I have speaking problems because I do not practice as much as I should, but lately I have been letting go that feeling that makes you be embarrassed. I think English classes have to do with this. For example, if some stranger asks me for directions or some kind of thing that means this person needs help, I am definitely going to help and do my best to have better communication. I also have family in the United States and I always try to speak in English when I have the chance to get in contact with them.
For me, the most common way to practice English is watching movies and series with original audio (I hate dubbing). At first, I started watching movies or series with Spanish subtitles, after that I started to watch them with English subtitles and English audio, and now I try to watch them with only the original audio. I found out that this way you could use your eyes to see things you usually skip because of being reading the subtitles. Besides, I follow Instagram profiles and YouTube channels with content in English.
I believe that learning new languages gives you new ways to understand certain things differently, and then creates new ways to think about these things and expand our minds. Every time we have the chance to learn a new language or practice a language, we should always take it.
